Abstract This paper studied the design of regional advanced exploration and control in the second phase of the north wing of Gequan Mine. The hydrogeological conditions of Gequan Mine were complex. It was based on the Ordovician limestone aquifer, the karst collapse column was developed, and there was a risk of water outburst. In order to safely mine No.9 coal seam, the ground area advanced exploration and control technology was adopted to construct the horizontal branch hole of limestone aquifer on the ground. The hidden water conduction structure and the development of limestone karst fissures of Ordovician limestone and Benxi limestone aquifer were found out, and the grouting transformation of limestone aquifer was carried out. The study provided guarantee for mine safety production.
