Abstract In order to effectively solve the problems of low efficiency and large amount of personnel input in the process of TBM rock roadway excavation, taking the west return airway of No.15 coal mining area of Kaiyuan Company of Huayang Group as the engineering background, the TBM gangue discharge system device is selected, and the intelligent fault detection and monitoring system is designed. Practice shows that the designed gangue discharge system can effectively solve the problem of TBM gangue discharge. Combined with the detection and control scheme of the optical fiber ring network system in coal mine, the transmission fault can be detected in real time and the construction can be guided. The practical results can meet the demand of roadway gangue discharge in this project, which has reference significance for similar projects
