Abstract In order to realize the rapid and safe excavation of the coal seam roadway in Luhe Mine, the research on the excavation and support technology of the coal seam roadway in the large section outburst mine was carried out in the concentrated return airway. According to the analysis, with the increase of the cross section of the roadway, the stress concentration was easy to occur in the middle of the roadway roof after the roadway was formed, and the roof fall occursed. The effect of conventional bolt and cable support was not ideal. Therefore, the truss anchor cable support method was proposed, its control mechanism was analyzed, and the support scheme was determined. The application showed that the deformation of roadway was obviously reduced, and there was no outburst danger in coal seam, which could provide reference for the excavation of similar outburst coal seam roadway.
