Abstract In order to solve the problems and safety hazards of underground water exploration and drainage in coal mines at the present stage, taking Shanxi Tiandi Wangpo Coal Industry Co., Ltd.as an example, a drill pipe centralizer was developed to assist the drilling hole construction by analyzing the characteristics of drilling water exploration and drainage operation in underground working face of coal mines. The equipment can effectively control the drill pipe, reduce the swing amplitude of the drill pipe, ensure that the drill bit can quickly cut into the coal body when opening the hole, and ensure the drilling accuracy during the whole construction process. Through field practice, the results and feedback obtained are basically in line with the expected results, which verifies the reliability and safety of the equipment, and also provides technical equipment reference for the construction of water exploration and drainage boreholes and gas drainage boreholes under similar conditions.
