Abstract In order to release the production capacity of coal mine, the open-pit coal mine in Jiuxian County of Hequ has increased its production capacity from 8 Mt/a to 10 Mt/a. Considering that after increasing production, the parameters of the original design of the slope and the inner dump may not meet the requirements. For this reason, it is decided to redesign some parameters of the slope and the inner dump. Through the analysis and calculation of the slope stability of the mining field and the slope stability of the inner dump, the slope angle of the end slope of the open-pit mine is 34°, and the angle of the inner dump is 19°, which can meet the needs of safe production.
