Abstract The mining of No.3 coal seam in Huayang No.2 Mine has been completed and a large amount of goaf water has been formed. In order to more accurately grasp its threat to the mining of No.15 coal seam, the floor failure depth of No.3 coal seam and the development height of roof water conduction fracture zone in No.15 coal seam were studied by means of numerical simulation, data collection and field measurement. The regression equation for the floor failure depth of No.3 coal seam and the development height of roof water conduction fracture zone in No.15 coal seam of Huayang No.2 Mine was obtained by linear regression method. The classification standard of goaf water threat degree in No.3 coal seam was given and the zoning map of danger degree was obtained. It was of great significance to predict and prevent the hidden danger of water admage in overlying goaf of No.15 coal seam.
