Abstract Controlled source audio frequency magnetotelluric method has been widely used in deep coal water admage detection because of its simple construction method, little influence by terrain and large exploration depth. Taking the detection of Ordovician limestone karst water abundance in a mine in northern Shanxi as an example, this paper introduced the key technologies such as the selection of construction parameters and data processing of controlled source audio magnetotelluric method, the interpretation method and application effect of data, and affirmed the practicability and progress of this technology in the detection of deep water damage in coal mine.
