Abstract With the rapid development of modern industrialzation process in China, the pollution of heavy metals (such as zinc, copper, cadmium, chromium, nickel, lead, manganese and cobalt) has caused harm to farmland soil and threatened human healgh through the food chain. The common methods of soil heavy metal deteltion at home and abroad were introduced, such as portable X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (PXRF), atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), inductively coupled plasma-emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), and infrared spectroscopy(IR). The advantages and disadvantages of each detection method are expounded, which provides technical reference for the detection method of heavy metals in farmland soil.
