| Study on surrounding rock stability of different diameter boreholes under uniaxial compression |

Abstract In order to explore the influence of holes on the stability of coal samples under uniaxial compression, pulverized coal was pressed into Briquetted Coal according to a certain ratio, and samples with different diameter holes were made. Uniaxial compression tests were carried out by uniaxial compressor. The results show that the pressure-displacement curve can be divided into three stages: compaction stage, constant velocity stage and acceleration stage. Under uniaxial compression, the failure of the sample with hole is progressive failure. With the increase of the displacement of the pressure head, the hole begins to be compressed, and cracks begin to appear and expand around the hole, and the crack direction is approximately vertical, that is, perpendicular to the axis of the hole; With the increase of borehole diameter, the greater the decrease of sample strength, that is, the greater the borehole diameter, the worse the stability of borehole surrounding rock.
