Abstract In order to develop a new type of high-efficiency coal-based capacitive carbon (CFC) scheme and make coal resources be exploited not only as energy but also as a new type of high-energy storage raw material, the experimental scheme of preparing CFC in laboratory was put forward, after a series of pretreatment, activation and post-treatment of raw coal, the coal-based capacitive carbon was prepared, and the data of the prepared coal-based capacitive carbon were characterized and tested, the supercapacitor is further assembled by using coal-based capacitor carbon, and the performance of the assembled capacitor is tested by constant current charge and discharge and cyclic voltammetry, the results show that the raw coal has the possibility of protective mining as a new type of high energy storage raw material.
