Abstract In order to solve the problems of large amount of gas occurrence, poor permeability of coal seam and difficult gas control in 15247S working face of Jiulong Mine, according to the coal seam geology and gas occurrence conditions of the working face, the combination of “ dredging and plugging ” was innovatively adopted to control gas. The gas was extracted from the straight-pulling high-top drilling field, the horizontal long drilling of roof strike, the gas in the goaf was blocked by the inorganic foam material wall in the upper corner, the borehole drainage along the upper and lower roadways, the short-hole high-pressure water injection fracturing drainage in the working face, and the original and adjacent roadway drainage. A set of comprehensive gas control system for composite coal seam is formed, which effectively controls the gas emission during the mining of the working face, avoids the gas overrun, and ensures the safe and efficient production of the working face.
