Abstract In view of the technical problems such as difficult opening, poor quality of roof support, low digging efficiency and safety coefficient during the construction of large section cuttings under complex conditions, the original construction process and main problems of the cuttings through technical research were analyzed in Erjing Mine and the construction process of 15205 roadway adopting the construction process of "one-time formation of large section and expansion of small section" was made. The practical application showed that the optimized construction technology speeded up the large section cutting construction efficiency, reduced the difficulty of coal gangue transportation cutting roadway, the use of safety support technology was adopted to improve the stability of the cutting roadway roof, achieved significant application results.
