Abstract The new wind shaft of Sima Mine traversing thick unstable strata and multi-layer aquifers with large water surges, according to the force analysis of the outer and inner shaft walls, the thickness of the frozen section wall was 900 mm, of which the outer and inner walls were 500 mm and 400 mm thick; C40 concrete was used for the construction, and the ring and vertical bars with diameter φ20 mm and spacing 300 mm were installed. ANSYS numerical simulation was used to analyze the stability of the frozen section wall structure, and the stress cloud diagram showed that the maximum stresses of the outer and inner walls were 29.7 MPa and 23.1 MPa, which were less than the compressive strength of the wall concrete, which verified the reasonableness of the wall structure parameters of the frozen section of the shaft, and provided a theoretical analysis basis for the smooth implementation of the freezing method in the vertical shaft, and had certain engineering application value.
