Belt conveyor is an important equipment for transporting coal in thermal power plants, and safe and reliable transportation is the prerequisite for ensuring continuous power generation in power plants. Wangqu Power Plant was taken as an example, the common faults of the belt conveyor in the actual production process were analyzed and studied, with corresponding preventive measures. Practice showed that the measures can effectively reduce the probability of belt conveyor failures, reduce the occurrence of safety accidents, and ensure the normal operation of the power plant.
