Abstract In the mining, the hidden faults, trapped columns, and openings in the working face have been the key problems affecting recovery and safety. In the 15210 face of the Lingzhida Mine, slot-wave seismic detection and radio-wave perspective technology were used to detect the hidden faults and trap columns in the working face. The study of slot-wave detection and radio-wave fluoroscopic perspective techniques was based on the experimental analysis of underground acquisition data, the selection of the best observation system, the quality control of data acquisition, fine data processing methods, and comprehensive geological comparison and interpretation. Through the above studies, the distribution of faults and trap columns in the face was effectively investigated to provide the safe mining of the working face. Meanwhile, the advantages and disadvantages of the two different methods were compared and analyzed. For geological structures such as hidden faults and trapped columns, the slot wave technique can be better applied to other complex geological conditions.
