Abstract In order to solve the problem of increasing absolute gas emission in the coal mining working face of the Xiaobaoding Mine, the feasibility of establishing a gas drainage system was demonstrated with the 8322-5 working face as the design. Measures such as reducing the gas concentration in the air return roadway by special gas discharge, and extracting upper corner gas from buried pipes, which effectively solved the problem of a significant increase in absolute gas emission from the working face, and finally realized the safe mining of the fully mechanized mining face. Efficient production has guiding significance for gas management in the general mining of fully mechanized working face in the future.
