Abstract In order to reduce the cost of filling materials in the roadway, Hebei Coal Science Research Institute has carried out research on gangue cementing materials with solids as aggregate and high aluminum cement clinker as binder. The effects of the gangue particle size grading, mixing degree, material proportion, cement content, compaction degree and other variables on the mechanical properties of the material were investigated by the control variable method. The test results showed that the strength of the gangue colloid was influenced by the amount of gangue cement, and the particle size was less influenced by the composition, and at the same time, sufficient mixing of the colloid material, pushing and compacting, could significantly improve the strength. The best ratio of gangue and mortar in the colloid was 65: 35, while supplemented by temporary support measures such as monolithic columns, could achieve better retention effect.
