Abstract Aiming at the gas treatment in the goaf of the high gas mining face, the high-level directional long borehole drainage technology was used to apply the drilled holes to connect the rock in the goaf behind the surrounding rock fractures of Chancheng, increase the efficiency of the goaf range. Field tests on the 172107 working face of Dashucun Mine showed that the coverage area of directional drilling was increased by 60% compared with that of high-top drilling, and the single-hole drainage volume reached 0.43 ~ 2.91 m3 / min, which was higher than that of high-top drilling 1.65 ~ 11.19 times, avoiding the change of gas concentration in return air during high-drilling drill field alternation or even exceeding the limit. At the same time, high-directional directional drilling can be used instead of high-drilling to extract gas in goaf for gas control in goaf.
