In order to improve the problems of heat generation, easy wear, frequent tool replacement and serious dust in cutting coal and rock cutters, ZBZ-200 heading machine of Xinzhi Mine of Huozhou Coal and Power Group was taken as example, it was improved in spherical and conical cutting head, water jet in front of it and rotary sealing water supply device through theoretical analysis. The experimental results showed that under the condition of water jet auxiliary operation, the indexes were far lower than that without water flow. The high pressure water jet could reduce the vibration of the machine, and the spray head effectively protected the cutting pick. The spray head successfully solved the defects of the current cutting machine and provided a new technology for the rapid mining of the mine.
