Abstract There are many methods for determining chloride ion concentration in water. Among them, silver nitrate titration is the arbitration method for determining chloride ion. There are many factors affecting the determination of chloride ion in silver nitrate titration, which are pH of water sample, visual factors caused by AgCl white precipitation, concentration of potassium chromate indicator, interference of impurity ions such as S2-， SO32- and S2O32-, etc. How to eliminate these effects is the end point of the study.
