Abstract The large discharge of fly ash causes serious environmental and geological disasters,its application in producing baking-free brick generates great economic benefit. The test showed that the coal ash with silica - aluminum, low moisture content, proportion smaller than sandy material, particle larger than cement material, ash loss was small, the leachate was alkaline, which was helpful to form strength of non - fired brick, as binding material, fly ash with morphological effect, micro aggregate and activity effect, could enable to save the cement with increasing the strength of the product or in the required strength. Material mix plan cement, fly ash: river sand = 1∶1∶3, uniaxial compressive strength achieved 15.2 MPa by 28 d, meeting the needs of MU15 baking-free brick, with good appearance and economic and environmental effect.
