Abstract Shitou river is the main river in the northern part of Hegang Mining Area and Shitou Miaozi group is the major water filling aquifer of coal seam roof in Hegang mining area. In this paper, based on the analysis of hydrological characteristics and the source of water conditions of the Shitou river, and from the groundwater level, hydrochemical characteristics and mine inflow to comprehensively analyze the effect of Shitou river to the aquifer of Shitou Miaozi group, The aquifer water-abandance of Shitou Miaozi group in Shitou river is strong, provides an important reference for mine water prevention.
