Kubai coalfield in Xinjiang is rich in coal resources but extremely scarce in water resources. As an important unconventional water resource, the study of mine water quality characteristics and comprehensive utilization path is of great significance to regional sustainable development. In this paper, Qiuci Mining and Yushuling Coal Mine in Kubai Coalfield are taken as the research objects. Based on the water quality test data and water chemical analysis, the water quality characteristics, chemical types and ion genesis of mine water are studied. The results showed that the mine water in Kubai coalfield was weakly alkaline ( pH 7.18 ~ 8.15 ), and the main over-standard factors were total hardness, TDS, SO2 and COD, which were typical high salinity-high sulfate compound mine water. The hydrochemical types are mainly Na·Ca-Cl·SO4 type and SO4-Na type. The source of ions is controlled by the dissolution and leaching of minerals such as gypsum and calcite, which is superimposed by cation alternating adsorption and evaporation concentration effect. Based on the characteristics of water quality and regional water demand, a comprehensive utilization technology path of source protection-grading treatment-stereoscopic utilization was constructed. The research results can provide theoretical basis and technical support for the utilization of mine water resources in arid coalfields in Xinjiang.
