Abstract: In order to study the dissolution of different types of acids on coal and provide a theoretical basis for the selection of acid fracturing fluid under different geological conditions, this paper takes formic acid ( organic acid ) and hydrofluoric acid ( inorganic acid ) as the representative to dissolve coal. Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction were used to explore the pore structure and mineral composition. The results show that the corrosion effect of hydrofluoric acid and formic acid is different. The surface pores of hydrofluoric acid treated coal samples are sharp and sharp, and the surface pores of formic acid treated coal samples are round and smooth. Hydrofluoric acid can largely remove the mineral impurities in raw coal, so that the pores are sharp and sharp. Formic acid can remove inorganic carbonates such as calcite, and it does not react with inorganic minerals such as kaolinite, and migrates some minerals to the edge of the pores, so that the pores are round and smooth.
