In Shunhe west mining area, the intrusion of magmatic rocks along the bedding and the high temperature hydrothermal baking make the coal quality metamorphism into high metamorphic anthracite and natural coke, which are difficult to be identified, so the development, utilization and evaluation of coal resources are affected. Through the comparison of macroscopic and microscopic physical properties of anthracite and natural coke and the results of laboratory analysis and test, six obvious indicators which are the differences of color, specific gravity, hydrogen, volatilization, ash and three lateral resistivity were found out, so that the anthracite and natural coke could be directly and effectively distinguished.
