In order to determine the pollution characteristics of volatile organic compounds ( VOCs ) of unorganized emission and characteristic pollutants in industry zone, a method for the determination of 39 kinds VOCs in the air by SUMMA canister sampling and GC-MS was established. The experimental results show that the relative standard deviation of the method is 0.4%~4.2%, the repeatability limit is 0.77~12.64 g/m3.The recoveries of four groups with different scalar quantities are 93.68%~105.36%, 85.28%~116.80%, 93.02%~102.04% and 86.48%~102.09% respectively. There are 34 kinds of volatile halogenated hydrocarbons and benzene compounds in the air, which are 15 kinds of halogenated alkane, 6 kinds of halogenated olefin, 9 kinds of benzene series, 4 kinds of halogenated benzene. The average mass concentration of VOCs is 124.33 μg/m3, the characteristic pollutants are methylbenzene ( 21.94 μg/m3 ), benzene ( 21.40 μg/m3 ) , dichloromethane ( 13.28 μg/m3 ) and 1,2-dichloropropane ( 11.57 μg/m3 ).
