Study on steam features and control factors of Yan'an Formation in Yangchangwan Mine in western margin of the Ordos Basin

Yangchangwan Coal Mine is located in the Lingwu mining area of Ningdong Coalfield in the western margin of the Ordos Basin, which is rich in coal resources and one of the most important coal production bases in Ningxia. Based on the geological background, lithologic characteristics, sedimentary environment and seam distribution characteristics of the Yan'an Formation in Yangchangwan Mine, the main controlling factors of coal seam in Yan'an Formation were discussed. The results showed that the distribution of the seams in Yan'an Formation was wide, the thickness of variation is high, and the recoverable area of coal seam was relatively stable. The sedimentary environment was mainly composed of river delta facies, and coal seams were mostly formed in the peat swamp environment of the delta plain. The seam distribution features were affected by the basic floor features and the sedimentary environment control and the sedimentary environment was the main factors of the seam development.
