The ash viscosity of Maiduoshan lump coal (MK) was measured by high temperature rotary viscometer, and the most accurate prediction model of ash viscosity was calculated by FactSage thermodynamic software, which was Urbain modified model (ion melt). In addition, the relationship between ash composition, temperature and ash viscosity was established,and the dimensionless coal ash viscosity-temperature index was established, η = [ |0.69 · w( SiO2 )2.80 · w( Al2O3 )+ 12.78 · w( TiO2 )| ] / [ |0.65 · w( CaO ) + 0.30 · w( Fe2O3 ) + 3.10 · w( MgO ) + 2.04 · w( K2O ) + 0.72 · w( SO3 )| ] · K · T / 100. It is accurate and convenient to use the index to judge coal ash viscosity-temperature characteristics to meet the requirements of the gasifier.
