The production wastewater of a traditional Chinese medicine enterprise was treated by hydrolysis acidification /SBR/ coagulation and sedimentation process, and the treatment scale was 600 m3/d, the influent COD, BOD5, NH3-N, SS, TP and pH are 1 200mg/L, 520 mg/L, 5mg/L, 80mg/L, 2.5mg/L and 5~6 respectively. After treatment, the effluent quality could meet the emission standards in the table 2 of the "discharge standard of water pollutants for pharmaceutical industry extraction products category"(GB 21905-2008), that is COD≤100 mg/L, BOD5≤20 mg/L, NH3-N≤15 mg/L, SS≤50 mg/L. The results show that this process has the advantages of low operation cost, simple operation, convenient management and no secondary pollution, and suitable for large-scale popularization and application.
