Shear adjusting high device made difference in coal mine production, but various faults occured in processes running which obstructed regular production. As a result, faults of shear adjusting high device were analyzed through static fault tree method, which found an efficient way to detect fault and ensure fault location. Taking specific shear adjusting high device as example, common fault types were introduced on the basis of static fault tree analysis. Top event caused by bottom event was made sure with qualitative and quantitative analysis, which determined fault quickly and provided solutions.
