In order to solve large deformation of deep and soft roadway sides and rock bolt supplement problem, failure law of surrounding rock study was conducted in No. 2 Mine of Zhaogu Mine 1105 working face air return roadway, the result showed that coal wall and coal pillar deep fissure extension area could extend to 3.3 m, with large roadway sides damage depth and small normal bolt length, without the ability to reach deep and stable area, with poor support to roadway sides. Through the analysis of long anchor structure, mechanical properties and advantages, long anchor bolt could effectively control the deep and soft rock roadway sides deformation, the roadway sides long anchor bolt support technology was put forward. The field application showed that the technology ends with good result, with small convergence of two sides, when achieved 40~70 mm then became stable, long bolt anchoring force stabilized in 140~150 kN, with good support effect.
