The pulverized coal preparation units of Shell Coal Gasification Process was depicted.The basic parameters, function, major component and principle of operation of hot blast stove of horizontal cylinder were discussed. Combining the production practices of Zhongyuan Chemical Group,the influence of detonation, ignition fault and purge gas on operating mode and some problems for example,the operation undulated  easily at normal running,were analyzed, and the solutions were put forward.During recondition, the refractory material of combustion chamber, auxiliary burner of combustion gas, thermal expansion compensation socket structure of furnace were checked, the results were satisfactory. The hot blast stove was easy and simple to handle and maintenance, having high heat efficiency and long lifespan, and be suitable for pulverized coal drying process of Shell Coal Gasification Process.
