9,9 - Bis (4 - hydroxyethoxy phenyl) fluorene (BPEF) is an important synthetic polyester-polyether monomer.It was synthesized with 9 - fluorenone and phenoxyethanol as raw materials and concentrated sulfuric acid as catalyst and a small amount of thiol carboxylic acid as cocatalyst,the ratio of the raw material (9 - fluorenone: phenoxyethanol: concentrated sulfuric acid) was 1:4.5:1.5, the reaction temperature was 50 ℃, reaction time was 4 h.The purity of the product was under 99%, the yield was 95% (literature value of 73.8%). This method had the advantages of cheap,readily available raw materials, high yield, good product quality and short routes.
