The coal petrological characteristics of the No.2 coal seam from Ningdong Coalfield Central was studied with the method of coal petrography. The results indicated that the No.2 coal was fresh continental deposits and its coal-forming plant was mainly dominated by herbaceous plants. The main moor type was low peat moor, while moist forest moor was subsidiary. Through analyzing the coal facies, evidence for the study of coal-forming envirment in the No.2 coal seam from Ningdong Coalfield central was pvovided.
