Abstract Based on full mechanized mining face with large power motor damage, Dongpang Mine was taken as an example, the cause of the high power motor damage was analyzed, through combination switch temperature protection system improvement, using thermal relay buried motor winding or thermal resistance realized the temperature protection in full mechanized mining with large power motor, which reduced the working surface motor damage and ensured the safety production of mine.
