Abstract A method for determinaion of lead in sorbitol by GF-AAS was established. Using the rising-temperature program of graphite furnace with D2 background correction,the lead content in sorbitol was determined by GF-AAS. The results showed that the regression equation for the lead determination was C =-0.691 7+99.2631×A ( r = 0.9950 ); the average recovery was 90.5%, RSD was 2.9%. The method had the lower limit of detection and more accurate for determining the concentration,and it also provided the basis for quality control of the raw of vitamin C .
