Abstract To ensure the safe production of No.15121 Face in Xinjing Coal Industry, this study adopted the mine direct current method and audio-frequency electrical penetration detection method to investigate the distribution characteristics of water abundance abnormal zones within the depth range of 0-90 m below the working face floor. Multiple low-resistivity abnormal zones were identified in the study. Combined with a comprehensive analysis of the geological and hydrological conditions of the working face, five key low-resistivity abnormal zones were delineated, among which No.5 anomaly was defined as the key section for water disaster prevention and control. The research provided important geological data and a basis for water disaster prevention and control for the safe production of the working face.
