Abstract Heavy diols are by-products in the process of coal-to-ethylene glycol production, which are difficult to recycle and have low economic benefit. The engine coolant was prepared through the synergistic action of several additives using heavy dihydric alcohol as antifreeze, with the mass percentage of 50%~55% heavy dihydric alcohol, benzotriazole 0.1%~0.2%, 2,4, 6-tri (aminocaproic acid) -1,3, 5-triazine 0.5%~1.0%, sodium dihydrogen phosphate 0.5%~2.0%, and the content of the coolant was as follows: Diethanolamine 0.2%~ 0.5%, the allowance was deionized water as the formula. Formula engine coolant general requirements, physical and chemical properties, performance meet the national standard requirements, improve the added value of the process.
