Abstract A method for determining the content of dienes in coal based naphtha cracking gasoline was established by using an infrared spectrometer combined with multiple linear regression. It was involved direct sample injection, and the analysis time was shortened from 5 hours in the traditional maleic anhydride method to 10 minutes in the infrared spectroscopy method. It does not come into contact with toxic solvents, the method was simple to operate, and the measurement results are fast and accurate. The detection limit of the method is 0.06%, and the relative standard deviation is less than 2%.
