Abstract Coalbed methane is regarded as an important low-carbon and clean energy source because it contains methane, and the recovery of methane in coalbed methane can reduce the pollution of gas emissions to the environment, and at the same time achieve energy saving and emission reduction. According to different concentrations, coalbed methane can be divided into: high-concentration coalbed methane and low-concentration coalbed methane. The technology of high-concentration coalbed methane in the recycling and utilization has become mature, while the low-concentration coalbed methane contains more impurity gases and the physical properties of methane and nitrogen are small, resulting in great difficulty in impurity removal and low recovery rate. At present, the academic circles mainly include low-temperature rectification, membrane separation, pressure swing adsorption and synthetic hydrate synthesis for low-concentration coalbed methane purification technologies. The above low-concentration coalbed methane purification technologies, introduces the purification principle and effect were reviewed. Different purification methods, and finally looks forward to the future research and development of low-concentration coalbed methane purification technologies were compared and summarized.
