Abstract In order to ensure the safe and smooth production of 1117 high gas working face in Wanfeng Coal Mine, the gas emission is predicted according to the basic parameters and production conditions of the gas in the working face. It is predicted that the gas emission during the mining period is about 11.94 m3/min. According to the relevant regulations, gas extraction must be carried out, and the extraction measures for the gas in the coal seam, the gas in the goaf and the adjacent gas are designed respectively. It is expected that the gas extraction rate can reach 64.2%, which meets the requirement of more than 50% in the ' basic index of coal mine gas extraction ' and ensures the safe advancement of the working face.
