Abstract In Xingdong Coal Mine, the mining depth is nearly 1 000 m, and the 1222 working face is a unilateral free working face, and its transportation roadway is a gob-side entry driving roadway. Affected by the superposition of high ground stress and goaf, the rear roadway is rapidly unstable, and the continuous large deformation of the rear roadway occurs during the excavation period. Through the drilling peep analysis of the state characteristics of the surrounding rock structure after the instability, and the reasons for the failure of the anchor net support are analyzed. A new method of changing the hanging net into the hanging rope, combining the stratified jet grouting with the anchor beam truss of the roadway side to strengthen the strength of the original rock on the side of the coal pillar, and then maintaining the stable structure of the anchor net joint is proposed. It is applied to the support of 1222 transportation roadway in Xingdong Mine. Practice shows that the new support scheme strengthens the loose structure of surrounding rock in the rear roadway of gob-side entry driving, effectively alleviates the phenomenon of frequent renovation of rear roadway in the process of gob-side entry driving, and improves the footage efficiency.
