Abstract In view of the threat of gas content to safety production in Yanzishan mine, the characteristics and conditions of coal seam gas occurrence are analyzed, and the influence analysis model of geological structure on coal seam gas is established. The influence of mine field structure, mining area structure, coal quality, roof bedrock thickness and coal seam burial depth on gas occurrence is analyzed, and the technical method of gas safety prevention and control is put forward. The control effect shows that the gas content can be reduced to less than 30 % far from the working face, and the gas content can be reduced to 10 % near the working face. The gas content can be effectively controlled by efficient extraction at high concentration.
