| The effects of coke preparation on coke reactivity and reaction strength reproducibility |

Abstract Many factors influencing coke reactivity and post-reaction strength in coal experiment, such as sample preparation, reaction time, temperature, gas flow rate and so on. In the course of laboratory testing, there are mandatory provisions for some factors or explicit provisions in the setting of laboratory equipment parameters, the temperature rise rate, reaction time and gas flow rate at each stage are now controlled by automatic measuring equipment with negligible effect. In ASTM D5341/D5341M -19, the selection procedure of spherical coke was proposed, and the influence of coke balls on the experimental results should be considered, the diameter of spherical coke was required to be between 23~25 mm. At the same time, the moisture content of coke is not more than 5%. Compared with other conditions of precision control, coke preparation is relatively relaxed. It is found that coke preparation has a great effect on reactivity and post-reaction strength, which should be paid attention.
