Abstract Ultra-high water material is a kind of pure inorganic material, which has the characteristics of high water content, short solidification time, high early strength, good sealing and low cost. It has been widely used in underground roadway sealing and old goaf treatment. In the fire prevention and extinguishing technology of down mining face, ultra-high water material is difficult to accumulate to a certain height to form a closed wall to isolate air due to its good fluidity and large diffusion radius. In this paper, according to the actual situation of the inclined fully mechanized mining face in Hetaoyu Coal Mine, by improving the ratio of ultra-high water materials and grouting technology, reducing the solidification time of materials and increasing the accumulation height of materials, combined with the engineering technology scheme, the modified ultra-high water material is formed in the goaf of the working face. An effective isolation and sealing wall achieves the effect of cooling and sealing fire prevention and extinguishing in the working face.
