Abstract After the lower coal seam of Hengda Coal Mine of Fuxin Mining ( Group ) Co., Ltd.was mined as the lower protective layer, the gas parameters in the protected area and the physical area of the overlying No.2266 Face were measured and compared, and the protection effect of the lower coal seam on the Sunjiawan coal seam was demonstrated. It has been proved that the gas pressure release effect of the upper Sunjiawan coal seam is obvious after the mining of the lower coal seam, which plays an effective role in pressure relief protection and provides a reference for similar mining conditions in other mines.
