Abstract Based on the analysis of basic mining conditions such as geology, hydrology and gas outburst in Yanzishan mining area, the coal-bearing coefficient is determined to be 7.71 %. There are four coal seams that can be mined, and K3b belongs to medium-thick coal seam with the most gas outburst. Based on the block segment method, the resource reserves of each coal seam are estimated, and the total resource estimation result of Yanzishan Mine is 100.81 million tons, which clarifies the resource reserves, coal quality and area of each coal seam.
