Abstract In order to analyze the feasibility of small section support scheme in Xinyuan Mine, the method of numerical simulation was used to carry out research. According to the field engineering practice data provided by the mine, the support scheme of the tunnel was designed, and the numerical simulation model was established according to the geological and mining conditions of the coal mine. In the simulation process, according to the support scheme and mining conditions, the stress distribution of the roadway after excavation and support and the stress of anchor cable were analyzed. It could be seen from the analysis results that in the design of bolt net and shotcrete cable combined support scheme, the stress of surrounding rock was improved, the thickness of shallow support layer was smaller, and the stress distribution of surrounding rock in deep support layer was more uniform, which fully mobilized the bearing capacity of surrounding rock; the small section roadway was in the No. 3 Coal Seam, the two sides were obviously deformed, the stability of roof and floor surrounding rock was better, and the stress of roof anchor cable and anchor cable was more reasonable, while the two sides were more uniform and the upper anchor was close to its ultimate load.
