Abstract Based on the engineering background of Yili mining area in Xinjiang, the weakly cemented rock samples were extracted. The main material composition and microstructure of bedrock samples were detected by X-ray diffraction experiment and electron microscope scanning system. The influence of bedrock cementation degree, fracture and hole development on groundwater seepage was analyzed. Through the permeability test experiment, combined with the total stress-strain curve and permeability change curve, the waterproof properties of rock in different layers and different lithology were explored. The permeability change curve of mudstone and sandstone was fitted, and the functional relationship between permeability and volumetric strain was obtained. FLAC3D simulation software was used to calculate and analyze the permeability evolution law of mining overlying strata in Yili No.4 Mine fully mechanized mining face, and the characteristics of seepage field were studied, which laid a scientific basis for the further water conservation mining technology in the mining area.
