Abstract The problem of spontaneous combustion in goaf of high mining height coal seam is a serious threat to the safe production of coal mine, which brings huge losses to the coal industry every year. In order to study the targeted prevention and control measures, according to the mining status of No.10-2 coal seam in Ciyaogou Coal Industry, the Fluent software was used to simulate the distribution law of the ' three zones ' in the goaf of the mining face, and the mechanism and law of the spontaneous combustion of the residual coal in the goaf were analyzed. The technical measures suitable for the spontaneous combustion and fire prevention of the Ciyaogou Coal Industry were studied, which effectively ensured the safe production of the mine and had important reference significance for the fire prevention and extinguishing of the goaf of other mines.
